I have been carp fishing for almost 35 years. I caught plenty of small fish in the early days, but I will never forget catching my very first double figured mirror carp weighing in at 15lb. Back then it seemed like a monster of a fish.
As the years went by and my experience grew along with my ambitions, I continually caught many big carp on my journey. I was starting to make a name for myself and I was noticed by various companies, including being given the opportunity to write for a number of carp magazines.
As with most people, life circumstances changed and I took a break from fishing as it overtook my life. After this short break it was not long until the urge came back to fish again. I was offered a ticket on a non-publicity water which I was delighted to take up. This is where I caught some of my biggest ever fish, to just under 50lb. Due to family commitments I could not fish daily as I did previously, but I still manage to fish weekly. I am still as passionate today. When that bite alarm goes off, I still feel that buzz of excitement!
