My love for fishing began when I was quite young, fishing for anything and everything in the numerous dykes, canals and pits across the Romney Marsh. These small dykes and the gin clear pits taught me a lot about bank craft and stalking. Fishing a friend’s farm pond was when I had my first experience of catching carp. Landing my first carp, a small common, instantly got me hooked on the carp fishing madness. As I grew in confidence and eventually got a driving license, my fishing started to move further afield, fishing the little pits and the various Mid Kent waters through the Stour Valley. This is where my love for the lakes in the valley began. Fast forward to present day and now I manage one of the Stour Valley jewels, the Chilston Stour Syndicate alongside Keith Pickett.
