Jay Mungo Cater Remembered
It is with the heaviest of hearts and our deepest condolences that we share the devastating news that our much-loved Jay Mungo Cater has passed away in the early hours of this morning.
From the very beginning of RidgeMonkey, Jay was more than just a colleague - he was family. His infectious smile, boundless energy, and unwavering passion could light up any room he entered. Whether in the office, or out on a film trip, Jay had a way of making everyone feel valued, included, and inspired. It’s no surprise that he was so deeply loved and respected across the entire carp fishing community.
Jay played a pivotal role in shaping RidgeMonkey into what it is today. Heading up our product development team, he brought creativity, vision, and meticulous attention to detail to everything he worked on. His ideas didn’t just stay on paper - they came to life, influencing the products anglers use and love every day. Beyond his work in development, Jay was a cornerstone of our flagship film projects, including The Great Escape and The APEroach. On these trips, his energy and enthusiasm were contagious, and his laughter and warmth left a lasting mark on everyone involved.
Jay’s legacy isn’t only in the products he helped create or the films he featured in. It’s in the countless friendships he forged, the inspiration he gave to those around him, and the joy he brought to the community he loved so much. He had a rare ability to connect with people, to make them feel at ease, and to motivate them to be their best selves - a gift that cannot be replaced.
We know this loss will be felt deeply by all who knew him, but we hope that sharing our memories of Jay’s energy, dedication, and heart will celebrate the incredible person he was.
